John Dunphy, writer

After graduating in 2003 from Alfred University, in Alfred, NY, with a bachelors degree in English, he accepted a position with Greater Media Newspapers, in Freehold, NJ, as staff writer for the Suburban and East Brunswick Sentinel newspapers. He later became staff writer for Edison, one of the largest towns in New Jersey with 100,000 residents. In July 2006, John accepted a managing editor position with Packet Publications, in Princeton, NJ, where he remained until Dec. 2008. John has been published in several newspapers and magazines, including Edible Jersey, Philadelphia Weekly, The Princeton Packet, Packet Magazine, Community News publications, Princeton Business Journal and more.

John is a contributing writer for several online venues, including New Jersey Newsroom, a Web site created by seasoned veterans of The Star-Ledger, the largest newspaper in the state; Destination Guides, a new traveler's hub; and MusicTAP, an online multi-genre music information source. He also recently wrote the literature for a booklet on Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) with Draeger, a medical equipment company valued at 100 million euros and employing 6,000 people worldwide. The booklet, and accompanying Web site, www.babyfirst.com, is expected to be seen by thousands of new parents throughout North America.

In July 2010, John became editor for "hyperlocal" journalism site Patch's Morristown, New Jersey, Patch site.
